Where is There an Aldi Near Me? Finding the Location of Stores in Your Area | ALDI REVIEWER (2024)

Last Updated on July 17, 2022

We often get emails and comments from shoppers wishing that they had Aldi closer to where they lived. The people in question often live tens or even hundreds of miles from the nearest Aldi, but not always: I recall one exchange, not that long ago, where a woman was unhappy because the nearest Aldi was ten minutes by car. She was older, short drives were hard for her, and she couldn’t afford the extra fees with the Instacart service Aldi in the United States uses, so she was hopeful that at some point Aldi would put a store closer to her.

For her — and for many other shoppers — it’s worth the trouble to figure out the location of the nearest Aldi store. Sometimes you’re just looking around your own town, and you come to realize one Aldi is actually a little closer to the one you’ve been using. Other times, you may be trying to find the location of new stores in your area. Still other times you might be traveling to another part of the country, you need to purchase groceries, and you want to scout out which Aldi stores in that geographic area might be closest to your cabin or Airbnb. Or maybe your family are would-be Aldi fans from an Aldi desert, and you want to see what the fuss is all about.

Or maybe you need more information than that. Maybe you need to know what the Aldi hours or, or if stores in that area sell alcohol.

“Can’t I just use Google Maps?” you might wonder. Well, you can, and online maps and GPS devices do help some … but they also only tell part of the story.

For a better, more useful picture, Aldi itself can be a big help.

Aldi Store Locators

Aldi maintains a nice database of stores along with other useful information. Each Aldi division around the world has its own setup. All of the Aldi store locators in the English-speaking world integrate Google Maps into their locators, so not only can you learn more about stores, but you can get reasonably good directions to get to those stores.

Each Aldi region has a slightly different set of features. In this post we’ll be looking at the following:

  • Finding the nearest Aldi in the United States
  • Finding the nearest Aldi in the United Kingdom
  • Finding the nearest Aldi in Ireland
  • Finding the nearest Aldi in Australia

So let’s get started.

Aldi US (United States)

Store locator link: here

Store locator features include:

  • Store address, including a way to get turn-by-turn directions by entering your address
  • Store hours
  • Special notes for holiday hours or closings
  • Accepted forms of payment
  • Information on whether or not a store has a parking lot
  • Information on whether or not a store sells wine and / or beer
  • Information on whether or not a store has curbside service or Instacart delivery
  • The ability to filter results for parking, wine, beer, curbside, or delivery
  • Access to the Aldi weekly ad for each store

My favorite part of the Aldi US site is how it lists the different operating hours for each Aldi store. You might be surprised to know that not every store opens and closes at the same time. In fact, there is at least one holiday, Easter, where some stores are open and others are not. It’s helpful to be able to check out a store’s hours, especially if it’s late in the evening, since stores can close as early as 7 p.m. or stay open as late as 9 p.m.

The specific filters for things like alcohol is also useful. There’s nothing worse than going to a store to pick up something only to realize that it’s not there, so having a heads-up on whether or not a certain store, for instance, carries beer or wine can be a big help.

Aldi UK (United Kingdom)

Store locator link: here

Store locator features include:

  • Store address, including a way to get directions by entering your place name
  • Store hours
  • Special notes for holiday hours or closings

I can’t say that Aldi in the UK runs quite as robust a store locator as the one in the United States. While the locator does have store addresses and hours, there aren’t a lot of details beyond that. Of course, Aldi UK also allows for online shipping where Aldi US doesn’t, so maybe it all evens out.

Aldi IE (Ireland)

Store locator link: here

Store locator features include:

  • Store address, including a way to get directions by entering your address
  • Store hours
  • Special notes for holiday hours or closings

Aldi’s Ireland store locator looks more or less identical to its UK store locator. It has the basics of store hours and the location. Not a whole lot beyond that. (Aldi IE doesn’t even have online shipping like Aldi UK does.) But it does use Google Maps, so you’re likely to get pretty good directions.

Aldi Australia

Store locator link: here

Store locator features include:

  • Store address, including a way to get turn-by-turn directions using an address and postcode
  • Store hours
  • Whether a store is currently open or closed
  • Special notes for holiday hours or closings
  • Information on whether or not a store has a car park
  • Information on whether or not a store sells liquor
  • Information on whether or not a store is suitable for disabled persons
  • The ability to filter results for open stores, car park, liquor, or disabled suitability

Aldi Australia has one of the cleanest looks of any of the Aldi store locators, and it also has a nice amount of information. I especially appreciate the note on the locator list showing whether a particular store is open or closed. Other features, like showing if a store has car park, is also nice to have.

Closing Thoughts:

In the English-speaking world, Aldi maintains a pretty good store locator for all of its different countries, and there are some similarities among them. All of them, for example, offer store hours, a street address, directions.

There are some little differences, though, at least at the time of this post. While the United Kingdom and Ireland’s locators are essentially identical, the United States and Australia have their own look that, while similar to one another, are also distinctive. Both Aldi US and Aldi Australia also offer information about parking.

The UK and Ireland are the more basic of the store locators, with no filters and seemingly less information. I also noted that getting directions on all of them except for the United States requires leaving the store’s website and going to Google Maps. The United States, by contrast, has embedded directions using Google Maps right inside the Aldi website interface.

Overall, I would say that the store locators for the United States and Australia are a little better than the ones for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Even so, all of the sites provide a good baseline of information and the ability to get street directions.

Because that’s really the most important thing.
