Where does Warren Buffett give his money?
Buffett always has been a philanthropist and has pledged the vast amount of his personal fortune of more than $100 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation upon his death.
He gave 1.5 million shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class “B” stock valued at $541.5 million to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named for his first wife, who died in 2004. Buffett created the grantmaker in 1964 to manage the family's charitable giving, and it remains a family affair.
Warren Buffett typically does not give money to individuals, although he frequently donates to charities. However, he has in the past forwarded individual requests for money to his sister, Ms. Doris Buffett, who operates an organization called the Sunshine Lady Foundation.

Using the Rule of 72, you would see that your investments should double roughly every 7.2 years (72 divided by 10). This allows the investments that you make this year to double four times before retirement (30 divided by 7.2).
Buffett, 93, also doubled down on his pledge to donate roughly 99% of his nearly $120 billion fortune to charity, revealing that his children, who share his views on righting wealth inequalities through private philanthropy, will serve as executors of his will.
Rupert Hoogewerf, the chairman and chief researcher at Hurun, said, “Whilst American and European philanthropists may have dominated the thinking of philanthropy over the last century, Jamsetji Tata, founder of India's Tata Group is the world's biggest philanthropist.”

Which Bank does Bill Gates use?
The majority of Gates' financial assets are investments in corporations managed by Cascade Investments, LLC, an entity now partially run by Gates to purchase stakes in various businesses. He is assumed to have roughly $12 billion stored here, for future investments.
And if you must take out a loan, perhaps get a 30-year mortgage — it's “the best instrument in the world,” Buffett told CNBC. In fact, Buffett took out a 30-year mortgage in 1971 when he bought a vacation home in Laguna Beach, California.
Buffett has a simple investment rule on retained earnings to assess management's capital allocation. He discussed this concept in a 1983 letter to shareholders. “We test the wisdom of retaining earnings by assessing whether retention, over time, delivers shareholders at least $1 of market value for each $1 retained.”
Buffett's headline rule is “don't lose money” and his second rule is “don't forget rule one”. This might sound obvious. Of course, it is. But it's important to look at the message within.
Buffett's Two Lists is a productivity, prioritisation and focusing approach where you write down your top 25 goals; circle your 5 highest priorities; then focus on those 5 while 'avoiding at all costs' doing anything on the remaining 20.
Warren Buffett is only leaving his three children an inheritance of 2 billion each out of his predicted estate of 65 billion. Why would he not distribute all of his estate to his children? Because he wants to leave large amounts to his many charities.
The majority of Buffett's $118 billion fortune is tied up in stock; his remaining shares are worth about $112 billion. As Business Insider points out, if Buffett had held on to all the shares he's given away, his net worth would top $250 billion.
The 25 biggest givers are together now worth an estimated $1.35 trillion–up an astonishing 44% more than a year ago, largely thanks to a dramatic rise in U.S. stocks. Warren Buffett tops our list as the biggest giver for the fourth year in a row, with $56.7 billion in lifetime giving.
According to a ranking compiled by the EdelGive Foundation and Hurun Report, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, has emerged as the world's most prominent philanthropist over the last century.
Does Bill Gates give money to individuals?
In general, and except in specific circ*mstances as noted on certain grant applications, the foundation is unable to make grants directly to individuals.
“It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price.” While some value investors focus on buying only the cheapest companies, Buffett suggests a better course of action is to buy “wonderful” companies – those with better economics and competitive positions.
