The best fishing rods in Terraria (1)

You can't catch a big fish without a good fishing pole. These are the top-notch fishing rodes in Terraria.

Fishing is somewhat of a niche activity and I'd be willing to wager that the person reading this (on average) has never been fishing in their life. That being said, fishing is perhaps one of the most popular activities across video games. Even in games where you think fishing would be the last thing on anyone's mind, you can still go fishing if you have the tools and access to water. Personally, I enjoy how different the fishing mechanics can differ between games and it can also be a very rewarding activity if you're willing to put in the effort. That's a possibility offered by Terraria.

Since you'll be focused on mining, crafting, and building, you'll likely not be thinking about fishing too much. However, there's actually a decent amount of fishing to be done and reason to do it. Aside from catching fish for yourself and completing quests, you can also fish up a number of different items and equipment that can prove to be pretty high quality. The thing is that whatever you catch is dependent on your gear, your luck, your persistence, and of course, your fishing pole. There are a decent number of poles to find and craft, but these are the best.
